Detractors argue that the media provided protection to Biden throughout his 2020 campaign and presidency, deliberately steering clear of unfavorable coverage.
Marc Caputo, a former reporter for Politico, stated that his editors halted a story in 2019 regarding Hunter Biden’s tax lien associated with Burisma. Subsequently, during the 2020 campaign, Politico reportedly discouraged coverage of Hunter’s laptop, branding it as “Russian disinformation,” which mirrored an open letter endorsed by 51 former intelligence officials.
According to reports, CNN refrained from covering the laptop story, while journalist Tara Palmeri indicated that her coverage of Hunter’s gun incident faced delays, implying a potential bias.
Questions regarding President Biden’s mental acuity emerged early in his administration. A report from the Wall Street Journal highlighted that Biden’s team modified his schedule in response to fatigue and erratic performance, with several reporters observing that he frequently seemed rehearsed, rigid, and unsteady in public appearances.
