Taylor Swift returned to Travis Kelce’s residence, the Kansas City Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium, for the NFL season opener on September 5.
The singer-songwriter, taking a break from her record-setting “Eras Tour,” donned a double-denim ensemble that included a Versace corset.
Her thigh-high Giuseppe Zanotti boots, seemingly tailored for her long legs, along with her lipstick, subtly referenced the team’s red color.
Swift exuded self-assurance as she gracefully walked past the photo pool. One can envision her mentally singing, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs…” as she confidently owned each well-heeled step. (Some of that confidence may have also been a silent reply to the fabricated Kelce-Swift breakup narrative that circulated this week.) After the game, they were seen leaving hand in hand, with sources indicating that their relationship is “solid.”
This month marks the one-year anniversary since Swift publicly acknowledged this relationship, having attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023.
According to Kathleen Perricone, author of Taylor Swift Is Life: A Superfan’s Guide to All the Things We Love About Taylor Swift, this relationship differs from her previous romances in all the right ways.
“For the first time in her life, she is with a man who a) is on her level and b) is on her level but not in her world.
There’s no competition. There’s no crossover — unless he suddenly picks up a guitar or she picks up a football,” Perricone remarked.

In return, Kelce has participated in 14 of Swift’s international tour stops to date.
What distinguishes this relationship, now a year old, is how Kelce — who initiated the connection by crafting his well-known friendship bracelet for Swift and subsequently mentioning her on his New Heights podcast in July 2023 — appears to be genuinely impressed by her talent, much like the rest of the world.
Perricone highlights an instance from the summer when Kelce followed Swift backstage after a European show, enthusiastically encouraging her to the applauding fans with his gestures.
“She has never, ever, ever, ever had a man who has been so openly proud to be with her,” she stated. “In her previous relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn, we didn’t know much because he seemed to prefer privacy.
Perhaps she felt she couldn’t truly shine. To quote her, she wasn’t ‘bejeweled.’ But Travis genuinely does. He appears to have a deep respect for her, which is fundamentally important in any healthy relationship.”
Perricone added, “I cannot predict what the future holds for them, but I sincerely hope it works out because it inspires me to believe that one can find a partner who loves and respects them.
Considering the men she has dated previously, I would never have imagined her with someone like him — despite the parallels to ‘You Belong With Me’ and the cheerleader-quarterback dynamic. It simply works.
